DIVISIONAL FAQs
What is Divisionals?
The Divisional meet means the five teams in our Division, which is Red 2, compete against each other in one end of season meet. NWAL is broken up into divisions of 5 or 6 teams (Red 4 has 5 teams).
Because there are 5 teams, it will be a longer meet than a dual meet. Estimated end time is just before 4pm. However, we strongly encourage you to attend. As a team, it is the culmination of our season. It's another opportunity to set personal bests and qualify for end of season invitationals.
If you look at the NWAL site (www.nwal.org), you can see "League" in the top menu. If you hover over that, you'll see "Standings." Click on that, and you can see the standings for every division. Divisionals will count as 4 meets in the standings, with 1st place being awarded 4 wins, 2nd place being awarded 3 wins and a loss, etc. It is not a dual meet, but in the sense that it counts in the standings, it is part of the regular season; it is not an invitational.
Where is Divisionals at?
The Red 4 Divisionals location is at Klein Oak High School's Natatorium. We will have indoor set-up in the gym and commons!
Who will be attending?
The teams in our Division: Londonderry (LDLB), Northampton Cudas (NHN), Shenandoah (SHN), Country Lake Estates (CLE), and Spring Creek Oak Dolphins (SCO).
Is my swimmer eligible to swim at Divisionals?
To participate in Divisionals, there are no qualifying times, per se. However, a swimmer must have participated in at least 2 dual meets and have swum a legal time in an event for which he or she is entered. That is, Time Trials times do not count.
What can my swimmer race?
Each swimmer can swim in a maximum of 3 individual events (that are not time trial times) and 2 relays (relays are limited to one A relay). This meet will include a mixed gender relay for each age group.
Do I need to volunteer?
Yes! If your swimmer is swimming at Divisionals, you must volunteer. If you have what you believe are extenuating circumstances preventing you from volunteering, talk to our Volunteer Coordinator, Kari Crenshaw.
What is the cost?
There are no additional fees. it is part of our regular season.
