    Shenandoah @ Londonderry 5/11/24

Hi Bolts! Our meet this Saturday, 5/11, will be our first dual meet at home against the Shenandoah Sharks! This meet will run longer than Time Trials, since it is a dual meet and the other team has about 60 more swimmers than us. Here are a few things to know about this meet. Please read all the way through, as some things have changed.

    Arrival Times

Volunteers for meet set-up and tent parents will need to be there by 6:30 am.

Swimmers please arrive by 6:45 am.

    Swimmers check-in by 7 am.

Londonderry has first warm-up. Warm-ups will begin promptly at 7:15 am.

Timers please check-in by 7:45. There will be a timers' meeting after warm-ups.

7:50 am Team Meeting by Coaches' Tent

The meet will begin at 8:30 am.

    Check-In

    NEW CHECK-IN PROCEDURE

All swimmers will check in at the same spot. There will be 2 volunteers circling in swimmers before you enter the pool gate. There will be separate lines for 10 & Unders and 11 & Ups. The volunteers will put lightning bolts on the swimmers' hands to show that they have checked in. After the 10 & Unders have circled in, they can go to their tent parent(s) to have their events they are swimming written on their arm.

    Volunteers

Volunteers please check-in with Kari Crenshaw as soon as you arrive to get your name tag and get credit for your shift. She will be in a pink shirt, so she is easy to find!

We have added a couple more volunteer shifts that need to be filled. We cannot run a meet without volunteers! If they are not filled by 3pm today, then families will be able to volunteer for a 2nd shift. Please sign-up to volunteer here: https://ldlbolts.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

    During the Meet

    • Swim Caps - Please do not wear a cap of another team or school. If you need to purchase a Bolts cap, we will have them for sale at Concessions.
    • Times - Per NWAL rules when using a semi-automatic timing system, each lane will have the semi-automatic timer and 2 manual watches. There will also be an equal representation from both teams for timers. The official times for an event will be in Swimtopia after it has been verified by Computers.
    • Coach Feedback - After your child swims each of their events, please have them get their time from the scoreboard (or timer) and speak to one of the coaches to get feedback.
    • Photography - We love that you enjoy capturing your kiddos swimming in action. This year per NEW league rules we are NOT allowed to take pictures from behind the blocks of swimmers.
    • Concessions - We will have breakfast tacos, donuts, and kolaches for breakfast. We will have hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, and sausage on a stick for lunch. As usual, there will be lots of candy, snacks, and beverages for purchase. M&K will be at the meet selling snow cones, and there will also be a coffee truck. All concession purchases raise money for the Bolts!

    After the Meet

    • Equipment Tear Down – As soon as the last heat of the last event is swam, the meet is over. Please stay, if you can, for a few minutes and help put all the equipment away. There will be Bolt Board members there to supervise and many hands make light work. Tent Parents - please help tear down your tent. Your help is truly appreciated.
    • Clean Up - As you pack up your gear, please look around your area and pick up all the trash. Trash bins are provided throughout the team set up and pool area. Please use them. If you see someone dropping trash, please remind them to pick it up.

Let's have a great meet! Go Bolts!
