IMPORTANT UPDATE - 5/18 GLF MEET MOVED TO LONDONDERRY

Unfortunately, with the widespread power outages the pool at Gleannloch Farms (GLF) does not have power and GLF will not be able to host this weekend. The good news is Londonderry's pool does have power and we are able to host at home. We will need to make some changes for this week's meet:

    Pool Information

Home of Londonderry Lightning Bolts (LDLB)

    Volunteers

We will need less timers, since our pool has less lanes than GLF. If you are a timer or scribe this weekend and would like to switch to Setup, Tear down, Bathrooms/Trash or Concessions please let Kari Crenshaw know. Since, we are hosting there will be other types of volunteer shifts we need to fill. Kari will post what additional volunteers we need. Shifts are on a first come/first serve basis, please comment on her post to sign-up.

We still need multiple concessions volunteers, 1 second shift timer, 1 person to check bathrooms/trash every hour during meet and 1 Head Timer. Job sign-ups have been re-opened and you can sign-up here: https://ldlbolts.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

Volunteers please check-in with Kari as soon as you arrive to get your name tag and get credit for your shift. She will be in a pink shirt, so she is easy to find! We cannot run this meet without volunteers. Thank you all for what you do to help this team!

    Check-In

All swimmers will check in at the same spot as last week. There will be 2 volunteers circling in swimmers, as soon as you enter the pool gate. There will be separate lines for 10 & Unders and 11 & Ups. The volunteers will put lightning bolts on the swimmers' hands to show that they have checked in. After the 10 & Unders have circled in, they can go to their tent parent(s) to have their events they are swimming written on their arm.

    During the Meet

    • Sportsmanship - Please remind your swimmer(s) that they are representing the Bolts and to act accordingly. I love it when I see our swimmers giving the other team "high fives", shaking hands and simply saying "good job"! Our team has always been known to show good sportsmanship, and we want to maintain that reputation!
    • Spectators - Please make sure you are watching your kids swim from the designated Spectator area. Please do not gather around the Coaches' tents, blocks, or ready benches.
    • Swim caps - Please do not wear a cap of another team or school. If you need to purchase a Bolts cap, we will have them for sale at Concessions.
    • Times - Per NWAL rules when using a semi-automatic timing system, each lane will have the semi-automatic timer and 2 manual watches. There will also be an equal representation from both teams for timers. The official times for an event will be in Swimtopia after it has been verified by Computers.
    • Photography - We love that you enjoy capturing your kiddos swimming in action. This year per NEW league rules we are NOT allowed to take pictures from behind the blocks of swimmers.
    • Concessions - We will have donuts, breakfast tacos, and fruit for breakfast. We will have hamburgers, hot dogs, and sausage on a stick for lunch. As usual, there will be lots of candy, snacks, and beverages for purchase. M&K will be at the meet selling snow cones, and the Travelin' Toms coffee truck will also be there.

    After the Meet

    • Equipment Tear Down – As soon as the last heat of the last event is swam, the meet is over. Please stay, if you can, for a few minutes and help put all the equipment away. There will be Bolt Board members there to supervise and many hands make light work. Tent parents please help tear down your tent. We will have volunteers to help haul them away, but we need help collapsing the tents and folding the tarps. Your help is truly appreciated.
    • Clean Up - As you pack up your gear, please look around your area and pick up all the trash. Trash bins are provided throughout the team set up and pool area. Please use them. If you see someone dropping trash, please remind them to pick it up.

We appreciate your patience as we make this pivot! Let's have a great meet! Go Bolts!
