6/1 LDLB @ BMST Meet Details
Hi Bolts! Our meet this Saturday, 6/1, will be our first away meet at Blue Marlins Swim Team! Here are a few things to know about this meet. Please read all the way through, as some things have changed.
Pool Information
BMST's pool is located at (Google Maps) (Apple Maps)
White Oak Conference Center
7603 Antoine Dr.
Houston, Texas 77088
There is parking for 200 vehicles on site.
Set up is outside the pool gate.
Visiting team is to the right of the entrance gate and home team is to the left of the entrance gate.
The front gate is used for entry to the ready bench and event spectators.
The rear gate is used for concessions and restrooms.
Arrival Times
Volunteers for meet set-up and tent parents will need to be there by 6:45 am.
Swimmers please arrive by 7 am.
Londonderry has second warm-up, and will begin warm-up at 7:30am. Please arrive on time and be prepared to warm-up. If you miss warm-up, you will not be able to warm-up at a later time.
The Scratch Meeting will be held in the back office of the club house at 7:30 am.
The Officials’ Meeting will begin at 8:00 am on deck at the North side of the block end of the pool.
A Ready Bench meeting for all assisting the ready bench will start at 8:00 am at the Ready Bench area under the pergola located on the southwest side of the block end of the pool.
Timers/Scribes meeting will begin at 8:15 am on deck at the North side of the block end of the pool.
The meet will start promptly at 8:30 am.
Please have all volunteers in place to allow for a prompt start to the meet.
Check-In
All swimmers will circle-in with the check-in volunteers. There will be separate lines for 10 & Unders and 11 & Ups. The volunteers will put lightning bolts on the swimmers' hands to show that they have checked in. After the 10 & Unders have circled in, they can go to their tent parent(s) to have their events they are swimming written on their arm.
Volunteers
Volunteers please check-in with Kari Crenshaw as soon as you arrive to get your name tag and get credit for your shift. She will be in a pink shirt, so she is easy to find! Set-up volunteers, check-in volunteers and tent parents need to arrive by 6:45 am. All other volunteers need to check-in by 7:30 am. There will be a timers' and scribes' meeting at 8:15 am.

During the Meet
- Water - Please make sure your swimmers are staying hydrated! It is going to be a long hot weekend of swimming, and we want to make sure our Bolts are drinking plenty of water!
- Concessions - BMST will have lots of breakfast, lunch, and snack options. Please find the link to their Concessions Menu here: https://bmst.swimtopia.com/concessions-menu
- Relays - Relays can change after circle-in. 10 & U Parents please check with tent parents before you leave to see if there has been any changes to relays, as they may have been added after their events were written on their arm.
- Feedback from Coaches - Please have your swimmer(s) check-in with the coaches before each event they swim to get last minute tips and reminders. After your child swims each of their events, please have them get their time and speak to one of the coaches to get feedback.
- Sportsmanship - Please remind your swimmer(s) that they are representing the Bolts and to act accordingly. I love it when I see our swimmers giving the other team "high fives", shaking hands and simply saying "good job"! Our team has always been known to show good sportsmanship, and we want to maintain that reputation!
- Spectators - Please make sure you are watching your kids swim from the designated Spectator area. Please do not gather around the Coaches' tents, blocks, or ready benches.
- Photography - We love that you enjoy capturing your kiddos swimming in action. This year per NEW league rules we are NOT allowed to take pictures from behind the blocks of swimmers.
After the Meet
- Equipment Tear Down – Tent parents please help tear down your tent before you leave. We will have volunteers to help haul them away, but we need help collapsing the tents and folding the tarps. Your help is truly appreciated.
- Clean Up - As you pack up your gear, please look around your area and pick up all the trash. If you see someone dropping trash, please remind them to pick it up.
